A Debate on Environment supported by the Ministry of Environment weekly shows on National Television is becoming increasingly popular among the university students in Cambodia. It has been produced for several years as part of the Youth Forum Discussion on the Environment. On the 27th of this forum, Svay Rieng University attended the debate on the theme of “The Effect of Climate Change”.
 

Obviously, receiving a strong support from the SRU boards of management, a specially well-trained and talented debate team of four students led by Mr HONG Chhun, vice-dean of Faculty of Agriculture, had a competition against other three universities, namely Royal University of Phnom Penh, Royal University of Agriculture and Cambodian Mekong University. As a result, SRU team won the first prize which was awarded by the Ministry of Environment.

It is noticeable that the members of the champion of the debate were selected from the Department of Rural Development and Public Administration. Their names are creditably listed below: Mr Yen Sopheap, Mr Penh Heng Ponlork, Mr Mao Sovan and Ms Ken Kanika.
